I'm working on a tutorial for ClayLessons.com showing how I create a polymer clay journal cover. Here is an image of the finished raw clay right before curing [link] Now it is cured and I have given it a wash of several coats of acrylic paint. Looks much different now doesn't it?!

You are so talented it's unbelievable! I've been using polymer clay for about 7 years but I still don't know exactly how to get the kind of finishes and patina's you can your work is so intricate and elegant, I really hope you do do a tutorial as I would love some tips x
Oh WOW... LOVE this! You work has always been so detailed and beautiful. I guess my only question has always been how do you cure yours. I have tried several times to work with the clay and I bake it as directed and it is still not strong enough and breaks off or in half way too easy to work as a bail for pendants or anything that doesn't just sit and look pretty if you know what I mean. What is your trick?
I found out that properly conditioning the clay is very important. I now run my clay through the pasta machine at least 20 times before I begin using it. Also, different clay brands have different properties; some are stronger that others and work better for jewelry. Here is one helpful article I found [link] Hope this helps!
