Mosaic dragon egg sculpture by MandarinMoon Mosaic dragon egg sculpture by MandarinMoon
For lack of a better name, I call this a dragon egg. Could also be called an alien asteroid...? :)

And now we know why dragons hoard treasure: it reminds them of their children.

I thought it was amazing when I first looked at it, and then I saw your hand and realized just how small it is and... Wow. Very pretty, and I love the amount of detail it has.

This is wonderful. You are so talented, and I love looking through your gallery!
Quick question, only because I've been experimenting with polymer clay:
When you make your creations, do you start with a plain colored clay and paint it or do you use a brass colored clay?

Thank you very much! I used to use Super Sculpey for everything. It is a flesh colored clay and you have to paint it if you want color. Now I use Fimo clay in colors. Mostly shades of brown or black. Then I may paint on top of it or just add Rub-n-buff, a metallic wax paint. I am almost always adding paint in some fashion to whatever it is that I am making. :) Anytime that you see a metallic finish on my pieces it is either Rub-n-buff or PearlEx powdered pigments. Both are a little on the expensive side but the tiniest bit goes a looooong way! :)

Did you sculpt it over a real egg, or a wooden egg, or is it just clay all the way through?

I actually used a hollow ceramic egg that I bought at the dollar store. :D

I don't know exactly how it goes but it's about 3 brothers who can choose 3 rewards. The first one chooses a table which sets itself with food, but the table gets taken away. The second one chooses a donkey that craps coins, but it gets taken away as well. The third one chooses a club in a bag that keeps clubbing the guy who took the first 2 rewards until he returns them.

How funny! You know, that club in the bag would be a handy thing to have! :D
