I mounted one of my polymer clay ACEO on a gallery-wrapped canvas and painted it with acrylic and metallic paint. I also added a few frosted blue glass gems that remind me of beach glass. :)
It is 5" x 5" x 1.75" and is thick and sturdy enough to stand upright on a table or shelf or can be hung on the wall.

I like the way this turned out and I'm going to try more polymer clay on canvas. :D Whee!

I really love this piece, I hope you don't mind me asking but how do you get your little bits and bobs to stick? Such as you glass gems and your little fish pieces? Do you use a certain metal so they wont melt when you bake them? I'm sorry for being nosey, I'm very interested :D thank you x

Thanks! Polymer clay cures at a relatively low temp so you can add glass, metal, stone and the like without harming them. After the clay is cured some pieces, especially the glass gems have to be 'popped off' the surface and glued back down. I use E6000 adhesive or a glue made especially for jewelers. The latter has a very fine application tip that is perfect for getting into small spaces. :D
