Once they are cured I paint them with a thinned mixture of burnt umber and black acrylic and then wipe it off of the raised surfaces. I do small sections at a time and damp the cloth or paper towel, but not too damp. Practice on a piece you don't care about too much until you are able to get the desired effect. Glass gems are a pain for me because I have to go back with a blade and scape the acrylic film off of them LOL!
