Artist's Comments

I started with a 4" x 4" x 1/8" thick crystal clear acrylic tile. I covered it with a sheet of black Fimo, cut holes in the clay where the glass gems sit so that the light will shine though illuminating the gems when back lit. I've decorated it in my signature style. The clay was cured in my oven and then metallic paint was added. It is rather hefty at nearly half a pound (6oz)! The gems have a rainbow iridescence that changes depending on how the light hits them.

Another beauty. I like the way the metallic goes gold to silver - nice! :)

Now if Captain Nemo was still sailing the seven sees he would seriously be searching out your skills to decorate his underwater palace. His loss our gain. Well done!:faint:

We shall not cease from exploration,
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
